Chris and Wes start us off with a quick overview of the Organizational Strategy, Goals and Objectives in this episode.

WEBVTT >> Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for tuning in. We'd like to give you an overview on the course you are about to watch. That's right. Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control, or C-Risk for short. I'm going to be your host and learner advocate through this entire series here. And my name is Wes Bryant. I've been a technical instructor for better than a decade, teaching a variety of computer technology and information security courses as well. But you're not here for me. You're here for this gentleman right here, Mr. Chris Ward. Thank you, Chris. Can you tell our viewers a little bit about yourself >> and what you bring to the table with this course? All right. Thanks, Wes. And good to have you with me, obviously. Wes is downplaying it. He actually knows a lot about a lot. So glad to have him with us. My name is Chris Ward. I am a project management and IT service management specialist and also a certified in Risk and Information Systems Control from ISACA. So good to have you with us because we are here to prepare you over these series of courses that we have here to get ready to not only pass the C-Risk exam, but also to prepare you to step into the world of risk management. Risk management is one of those areas where if you're into the world of audit, if you're in the world of project management, IT service management, risk is one of those things that if you know it and you understand it, you are going to be someone that everybody wants on their team. Risk is something that we have in all of our lives in just about everything. But when it comes to our enterprise, our organization, we really need to understand what is the risk appetite that we have as a company? What are the tolerances that we're willing to have? Have we identified the risk? Have we analyzed and assessed the risk? Have we come up with risk responses and have we continually monitored that risk? Those are the four areas in the life cycle that we're going to be covering over the series of courses that you're going to do. But we're going to start off with this one where we're talking about governance and compliance. And it's very important that you pay attention. We're going to be giving you some tips and tricks, both Wes and I, about things you're going to see on the exam, subjects that are really important, not only from an exam perspective, but also what you need to know when you walk into that meeting with the senior management or the board of directors and you are the one on the hot seat. And they're going to say, "What do you know about risk? How can you help us?" And you need to be able to answer those questions. We're going to help you out with that. So good to have you with us, Wes. >> I'm excited about this course. Very good. All right, ladies and gentlemen, if that is what you are looking for, see risk. You go ahead and push play and you can join Chris and I in the first episode.
