WEBVTT >> (upbeat music) Welcome and thanks for joining us for the overview for implementing identity in Azure AD. I'll be your host for this course, Sophie Goodwin. I've hosted a couple of other Microsoft focus courses, mostly cybersecurity stuff here at ACI Learning. So I'll be learning right along with you during this course. I'll be asking questions that you might have at home, but Anthony Sequera is gonna be our subject matter expert for this course. Anthony, tell us a little bit about yourself. Sure, so I've been dealing with Azure since it was created, AWS before that. And before all of that, I've been working with Microsoft server technologies and client technologies. So to teach this particular course was right up my alley, so to speak. And you know, it's interesting, this course fits in an overall program that we are teaching about Microsoft 365. So isn't it interesting that we have a module here that we're calling Azure Active Directory Identity? It's like, wait a minute, where's the Microsoft 365? Well, we have to remember that Microsoft 365 relies on nothing other than Azure Active Directory for identity. So we're gonna dig deeper into the Azure Active Directory for the sole purpose of it driving identity in Microsoft 365. So you mentioned that this is part of a larger overarching kind of course on Microsoft 365. So we've got to split into modules. You might be watching this module by itself or as part of a different course. So in the event that this is a standalone module for the person watching, what does the structure of this module specifically look like? Yeah, so what we're gonna do is, one of the things we wanna do is we wanna give some special attention to ways in which to populate that Azure Active Directory, to make it easy for administrators. One of the things that Sophie and I showed you in an earlier course, if you're watching these in order, was we taught you how to do things like bulk create users in Azure Active Directory. Sophie and I used a form that was on Azure's portal. We even used a CSV comma separated value file to create those identities. But one of the things that we mentioned back in those episodes was there was a lot of additional methods for bulk creation of accounts. And one of the huge areas of this course is gonna be talking about synchronization methods. What if you have a successful, happy, healthy, active directory inside your corporation? Certainly you're gonna want a way to synchronize those accounts with your Microsoft 365 and we'll show you how to do that. So for those that are watching and maybe wondering where they fit into all of this, what would you recommend as far as the experience level goes? Where should somebody be in their experience level if watching this? Well, I would for sure have some familiarity with Azure. So we kind of assume that you've logged in Azure before, you understand what Azure is, what it can do for you. And of course it also helps to know your way around active directory. But in our demonstrations of how to do all this, we're not gonna assume a whole bunch of knowledge. And I'd like to remind everyone that we have a great forum available to you right inside your learning console. So if you should have any question about this material as you're going through it, be sure to pop up there and throw in a question for Sophie or myself or one of the other SMEs here that would be thrilled to answer your question. Now, before we wrap up this overview, I'm curious, why are you excited about this course? I'm really excited about this course because I love saving admins tons of time. And all I can think about is that admin that already has their accounts set up for the eventual Microsoft 365 and they're not gonna wanna recreate any work. Another thing that's very exciting about this course is kind of exploring some of the more advanced features of Azure Active Directory, which will have a direct impact on your Microsoft 365 deployment. For instance, we're gonna take a look at conditional access and things like that, that'll really make your overall Microsoft 365 implementation that much more sound and secure. >> Well, I don't know about you, but I for one feel like we're in very good hands going into this course. I'm looking forward to learning a lot. So thank you for giving us an overview. My pleasure. We will be learning and thank you for joining us for this overview for implementing Azure, implementing identity in Azure AD. Did I get that right? You got it and it's a mouthful. It is a mouthful. I'll get it right by the end of the course, but thank you for joining us for this overview. We'll see you in the course. (upbeat music)
