This course is designed for Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrators who take part in evaluating, planning, migrating, deploying, and managing Microsoft 365 services. They perform Microsoft 365 tenant management tasks for an enterprise, including its identities, security, compliance, and supporting technologies. They will have a working knowledge of Microsoft 365 workloads and should have been an administrator for at least one Microsoft 365 workload (Exchange, SharePoint, Skype for Business, or Windows as a Service). In addition, they should also have a working knowledge of networking, server administration, and IT fundamentals such as DNS, Active Directory, and PowerShell.

You're watching IT Pro TV. [MUSIC] Hi I'm Greg Gardner and I'll be your host for the MS-101 Microsoft Mobility and Security course. I spent several decades in IT, starting in the military, having a stint at Microsoft as managing their global data center. Setting up a couple of network operations centers before I decided to come back into the teaching world. With me is Adam Gordon and he'll be your subject matter expert. >> Hi everybody, so glad to be spending time with you and of course Greg always good to spend time with you. Like Greg, I have an extensive background in IT. Worked for Microsoft as a kind of a hired resource, a consultant if you will, way back in the day, actually, Greg and I were at Microsoft almost at the same time. Well you'll hear us chat about that during the course a little bit from time to time but I spent a lot of time as all the entertainers do here at IT Pro TV. Working on all sorts of technologies I specialize in Microsoft. And I'm gonna be spending time with Greg and with you talking about all the really cool things we have to know in order to take and ultimately prepare for and pass the MS-101 exam. >> Sounds fantastic. Now students are looking at this and they wanna know just what's in it for them when they take this course. Can you talk about that? >> Yeah, absolutely. So we're gonna be covering three major topic areas that Microsoft's laid out. We kind of align with their certification skill outlined for the exam and all up high level thought processes include implementing modern device services. Implementing Microsoft 365 security and threat management and of course managing Microsoft 365 governance and compliance. We've got a wealth of detail built into every one of those three major topic blocks. We'll be drilling down and take you look at technologies from the Azure portal to the Microsoft 365 portal and of course the endpoint management capabilities associated with in tune. And we'll throw in references to all sorts of other stuff along the way. Lots of really cool things to focus on. Lots of really great technologies to understand ultimately to plan for use to manage and to deploy our resources. And as part of that will not only share with you the planning thought processes. But also the how to we'll spend a lot of time demonstrating how to implement these technologies and show you the best path forward to be successful, both in the real world as well as on the exam. >> Now, Adam, as the subject matter expert for this course, you went ahead and design this. Can you talk a little bit about the course structure and maybe some of the resources that you put into the course and, by the way, talk a little bit about that certification exam too? >> Absolutely. So, we design all of our courses at least the certification aligned ones to be aligned with the exam outlined that Microsoft in this case the certification vendor provides. We're gonna follow that outline, make sure we cover all the major points that Microsoft says you're gonna be relevant for you to prove your skills against and provide you the opportunity and the tools to do so. You need to hear and see Greg and I have conversations and the planning area is talking about the theory. You'll see Greg and I walk through and do hands on demonstrations around how to implement and manage those technologies. All three of those elements are critical to your success. Will provide you resources to Microsoft's own documentation in order to drive those conversations along with walking through those particular demos in our own tenant, our own built out demo environment. Encouraging you to do the same in your own environment and if you're not able to, you at least have the documentation to follow along and study from. But you're gonna have a wealth of resources associated with this exam rather with this course for the exam. The exam itself is like all other Microsoft exams. Multiple choice as well as performance based opportunities for you to master those skills and provide that information and show that you are actually able to do these things in order to get those answers correct and be successful. >> What excites you the absolute most about this particular course? >> Two things working with Greg is gonna be really exciting opportunity for me. You're gonna hear us talk all about are not only memories of how we've done this for decades in both our cases. But you'll hear us talk about a lot of really cool information of real world stuff. And in addition the opportunity to spend time with all of you and to show you how all this technology comes together and how you can use it to be successful in the real world as well as on the exam. >> Sounds fantastic. Let's go ahead and get this show on the road. >> Absolutely, looking forward to it. We're gonna go get ready. We hope you are as well. We'll see you there. Don't be late. Take care everybody. >> Thank you for watching IT Pro TV. [MUSIC]
