WEBVTT >> (upbeat music) Welcome and thanks for joining us for this overview for Juniper Junos OS Basics. Not Junos, like I was mispronouncing it earlier. It is Junos. So I'll be your host for this show, Sophie Goodwin. I'm an edutainer here at ACI Learning. I'm gonna be functioning as kind of a learner advocate for you as we move through these episodes and learn a little bit more about Juniper, asking the questions here that you might have yourself at home and learning right along with you. And of course, >> over here next to me is Anthony Sequera, he's going to be our subject matter expert for this course. Anthony, could you tell us a little about yourself? - Sure, so I have been doing computer networking since about 1996. And I started, like many do, in the world of Cisco networking and sure enough before too long became experienced supporting and maintaining Juniper equipment as well. So I was very excited to see that Juniper and specifically Junos, now I'm questioning how to pronounce it, Junos OS, you know, maintenance and operation. I'm so glad that that is joining the library here at IT Pro. - >> Okay, well, it's good to know that you've got some background in this kind of field, some experience. Juniper's totally new to me, so I'm gonna be learning right along with you. Now, for those of us that are watching this course and like I said, this is new to us, is there any other prerequisite knowledge we need to bring in before we watch? - I would say that a good, >> you know, A plus knowledge is certainly gonna be great here. Many of our students love and we as edutainers here really recommend Frequently Network Plus. That would be a huge advantage if you had that. But one of the things that I'm gonna do as we move through these episodes is I'm gonna teach this to Sophie. So Sophie is that kind of A plus level of knowledge person and I'm gonna teach this to her. So if you don't have something like that Big Network Plus certification, have no fear. We're gonna make this very, very simple as we move through. - >> I am that hero. That is a Larry boy reference, very niche. >> So before we wrap up this overview, can you give us kind of a glimpse into what we're gonna actually learn in this course? I mean, besides the obvious, we're talking about Juniper, but what specifically are we gonna learn? - Yeah, we're gonna start out just by giving an overview of the approach that Juniper uses to its software to manage these devices. So we'll start at a really high level. We'll talk about how these devices operate, why they are so reliable, why they are so high performance, but then have no fear. We're gonna roll up our sleeves. We're gonna get onto actual Juniper devices and we are gonna walk through the key configurations as well as configuration management principles. So we are gonna really give you a huge headstart into the world of Juniper. - >> Well, I feel very prepared going into this course, as you can see by my invisible rucksack that I'm wearing. So we'll go ahead and we'll wrap up this overview, but thank you for joining us for this look into Juniper Junos OS Basics, and we'll see you in the course. (upbeat music)
